About me

Hello, I’m Alaura,
a Herbalist, and guide for your courageous health journey and self-exploration.

I began this path long ago, pursuing a Yogic way of life. I spent the past 15 years of my life embodying a mindful connection between my body and emotions. For me, the body houses intuition and the chambers within oneself.

My mind-body practice blossomed and provided a space to experience myself. This led me to a guidance and healing role, Yoga and Meditation teacher training in 2021.

After four years and a graduation in the academic world, I chose to step away from the studies which no longer felt compatible and heed the nudge inside: to work as a healing guide.

My path

The thought about healing support didn’t arise in my journey until a series of personal debilitating and traumatic health experiences.

During this time, I was examined by several professionals, including while I was on vacation thousands of kilometres from my home, and I was constantly given different answers and medications. Finally, a trusted practitioner suggested I pause, listen, and feel. Only then, did I remember my body's wisdom: intuition. The innate ability to feel safe.

Complementary Medicine helped me remember my own autonomy and authority. I slowly found my way, not in a week, not even a month, but the hope of self-trust sparked the healing I desperately yearned for, within my own being.

I continue to build connection to my body, my fears, my emotions, my mind, and my sexuality. I have discovered the hard way that a disruption in one of those parts cascades across the entire self.

Once the shift had taken root, I knew something needed to change. There seemed to be a void of whole-body integration, compassion and listening in health and healing care.

I researched, connected dots and made appointments with many medical, alternative, and psychological practitioners.

It was a lot of work.

And I wish there would’ve been someone who had the information and research I agonized over for months.

With a resounding pivot, my path led me to study as a Doula, Herbalist, Women’s Hormone Health Practitioner, and complete a Post-Graduate Certificate of Science.

This is where I meet you today.

It took me a long time to gather the pieces of myself, and I discovered along the way that suffering is not the only path.

Pain may be inevitable, but suffering

is often caused by ourselves.

Practice

My purpose and work with you is to provide a safe return to your balanced whole-self.

My mission is to bring equilibrium to the physical, emotional, mental, and if desired, soulful aspects of your self. We will both work as healers, because not one other person knows your constitution or has spent as much time with you as yourself.

My care weaves body wisdom from somatics and teachings into our time, trauma-sensitive emotional awareness, as well as (W)holistic and integrative connection within. While we will address presentations of problems, more importantly, we draw the root to the surface and compassionately connect the problematic dots to uncover a picture of healing and wellness.
Please remember, it is your body. It's your choice how to treat and what to do with your body.

If I could leave you with one thought, it would be: you can serve as your best authority and healer.

yours in health,
Alaura
